How to Replace a Toilet
It’s not as difficult as it appears to replace a toilet. All you’ll need are a few hours, a helping
When a toilet is flushed, it can be loud and noisy for a variety of reasons. Sometimes, we hear something like boiling water, a slap and some noise, or a humming sound. Like a car, these sounds usually suggest that there might be a problem.
A dirty valve, a water hammer, or a broken float switch may be the reason why your toilet is making such suspicious noises.
Is your toilet so noisy? If yes, you should, therefore, investigate these issues early to ensure that they do not become more severe in the future.
The valve is dirty or remains stuck on it, one of the most common reasons why you have a toilet so noisy. If the toilet makes a screaming foghorn-type noise, you’ll know this is the issue. But don’t worry, that’s quite an easy fix.
Turn off the toilet water supply, remove the tank lid and position the fill valve and remove any dirt and debris carefully. Allow water to flow out of the valve as well. It will flush any waste from the fill valve line. Switch the water back on, and the sound should have gone away.
If this doesn’t work, then it might help to fit a new ballcock and fill valve.
Another common problem when the toilet is flushing is a moaning noise. A sudden change may cause it in the direction of a fluid in motion or trapped air compressed inside the pipeline.
A water hammer can cause massive damage to the washer, and it can be as easy as replacing a washer, which is relatively easy to repair if you encounter this.
Always remember first to switch off the water supply. Go in, split the ball valve, and you can find a black rubber washer. Subsequently, replace your washer with a new one. Place it right in and put the valve back in the ball. As a result, that should solve the problem.
If you can still hear gurgling long after the toilet flushes, then the venting system may be a problem. Plunge the toilet into your ventilation system to loosen any obstructions.
The reason for the noise is that the air can not flow up and out of your other drains, forcing it to flow out of your ventilation system. So you should also clear up the ventilation system to stop the gurgling.
